Minneapolis artist, Moira Bateman, explores humanity and nature by working on-site with specific landscapes. Her recent work, on exhibit in the Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library, includes long silk sheaths that were submerged in Minnesota’s bogs, rivers, lakes, a fen, and a vernal pool.
Bateman holds a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Minnesota. She has received numerous awards including a Jerome Fiber Artist Project Grant and an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
Moira Bateman is a fiscal year 2014 recipient of an Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
The exhibit remains open January 23 through February 23, 2015.
