Navigating Google is easier said than done. You know what you're looking for, you know the information is out there somewhere, but how in the world do you find it?!
If you've ever been frustrated searching the Internet, this is one workshop that will change your life. The “Hands-On Google Workshop: Searching Tools & Tips” — an exclusive benefit for Friends of the Libraries Members — will teach you advanced search techniques and help you master tools to help you access, evaluate, and share information.

'Quiet and quaint'—and very natural
That’s how students describe the new Natural Resources Library on the St. Paul campus which opened in June following the merger of the Forestry Library and the Entomology, Fisheries, and Wildlife Library.
The merger brings together two world-class collections and also saves $130,000 annually in operating costs! The consolidation earned campus recognition by winning the Operational Excellence award recently.

As she leads UM Libraries—
—she will also lead the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). Wendy Pradt Lougee, University Librarian and McKnight Presidential Professor, will serve a one-year term as President of ARL.
This nonprofit organization of 125 research libraries in the US and Canada has a mission to influence the changing environment of scholarly communication and the public policies that affect research libraries and the diverse communities they serve.
Congratulations Wendy on this significant achievement!
