Photo contest winners dazzle

Student Choice Award winning photo by Alicia Lim
The second annual Friends of the Libraries Student Photo Contest was a resounding success with more than double the entries of last year. Students were asked to portray their library experiences… and the results were both inspirational and exceptional.

A treasured poet, a packed room, and soulful singers…

Michael Dennis Browne addresses the audience at the Pankake Poetry Reading
…marked the 6th annual Pankake Poetry Reading featuring Professor Emeritus Michael Dennis Browne. A gifted poet and librettist, his reading was accompanied by 40-strong University Singers who brought his words to joyful life. Listen in.

Creativity on demand!

Push 4 Art at Walter Library
Push for Art takes talent on the move, in a surprising way. With a traveling button that calls for action, complete strangers and passersby are asked to “Push for Art.” Curiosity causes a click. See what happens next.

And FINALLY…

Final Prep Kit
With Finals beginning in early May, the Libraries sponsored three pop-up events promoting services and staff that support students’ success and wellbeing during a stressful time. Staff handed out Finals Survival Kits with info on hours, stress busting activities, study tips, and snacks—a great hit with students!

Overheard in the hallway…

Student #1: See, I told you librarians know EVERYTHING!
Student #2: I know, right?! I LOVE libraries!
(Librarian): ☺
