The Libraries play matchmaker…

Picture of wrapped books for the Valentine's Day promotion…with a special Valentine’s Day promotion, Blind Date with a Book. For a real “blind” date, students could pick a wrapped book, but for a perfect “match”, they could tell a librarian about their reading life and get a personalized book recommendation. Thanks to some very creative librarians, mid-February got a warm break from the frigid temperatures.

From giving the love, to getting the love…

…which is what three Libraries staff (Tim Johnson, Ryan Mattke, and Susan Gangl) received from students in Professor Bernard Levinson’s freshman seminar “When Gods Walked the Earth.” He said it best: “The three of you would have been glowing with pride if you had seen how the students responded… when I asked them what they thought of the experience. They were buzzing with excitement and told stories of the visits to the Rare Book Room (Tim) and the Map Library (Ryan). And the impact of the research tools that you (Susan) exposed them to… made evident in presentations and relevant bibliography in support of their research.”
