School's out, school's out!

StudentBUT FIRST…finals week (with embellishments!). And to break the tension of studying, these stress-busters were hosted in the major campus libraries:

Walter:  Wii and puzzles;
Magrath: an urban foraging tour (hmmm..that sounds interesting!!) and aromatherapy sachets;
Wilson: snacks and Star Trek showing (original series);
Bio-Med: 5-minute chair massages and pet therapy.

And snacks everywhere!  Best yet, last-minute tutoring available in all Smart Learning Commons.

A program of historic proportions

Jeffrey WatkinsAs the leaves fall in September, yellow school buses ferry eager 6-12 graders to campus to prepare for History Day.

This year, more than 3,000 students visited University Libraries to do research using primary and secondary sources with the help of librarians and mentors. In Minnesota, it culminated with 1,000 students participating in a spring event on the University campus. The winners of the Minnesota contest move on to National History Day at the University of Maryland. Read more...
