Did you know . . . ?
A quarter of a million+ downloads each month!! That's how popular (and important) AgEcon Search has become. It's our premier repository for scholarship in agriculture and applied economics and has a global collection of over 48,000 full-text papers contributed from 250 institutions from 32 countries.
And speaking of research . . .
Susan Larson's PhD Thesis at UC Berkeley got some serious help and a great big kudos to U Libraries' staff who "…worked very hard to give me access to one of the finest collections of Finnish Studies materials anywhere in the United States or Europe." Can you say Onneksi olkoon? (congratulations!)
Celebrating the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible
An extraordinary exhibit, "The Word Made Flesh," is now open in the T.R. Anderson Gallery (Wilson Library, 4th floor) and reveals one of the University's most treasured collections featuring ancient and rare biblical texts, including illuminated medieval manuscripts and facsimiles.
How old are they?
- Old: A first edition of the New Testament portion of the King James Bible (1611)
- Older: Two leaves from the 42-line Gutenberg Bible (1450)
- Oldest: Latin Vulgate (1280)
A traveling exhibit opens January 25th: "Manifold Greatness: The Creation and Afterlife of the King James Bible" tells the story of one of the most widely read books in the English language.
